Kill All Celebrities
Don’t blink because a split second into Kill All Celebrities set and
their already going crazy for it. Vocalist Kevin leaves the stage whenever he can to join the crowd as he lies, mic in hand, screaming on the floor. His energy, however doesn’t reflect on the crowd, who barely move apart from a few hardcore dancers which does no justice to their energetic set. Although there are many guitar/guitar strap malfunctions, KAC’s grind fused metalcore keeps audiences hooked (although most of them don’t seem at all enthusiastic about it). Their technical guitar riffs sound like they’ve wandered out an Architects album. KAC reeked of energy tonight, however the crowd served no justice.
The Condemned
Glasgow metalcore quintet, The Condemned, are known to be crowd pleasers at local shows. As they enter the stage, messages are shouted to each member by the crowd, obviously a local gig.Vocalist, Michael McBrearty is a definite presence within the band,
standing on the barrier as much as he could and engaging the crowd as much as possible. But also Paul, there bass player of all people, is reeking of presence as he stands up front.
Could be metals answer to Pete Wentz. The Condemned’s music might be your typical metalcore, but the kids go crazy for it.
Although cliché’d, The Condemned mix brutal beatdowns and raw screams with melodic guitar riffs and fast as hell drum beats, making any I Killed The Prom Queen or All That Remains
fan begging forso much more. There is definetely a huge presence as they appear on stage. They may appeal to local shows, but can they maintain this presence outsides their own home town?
We should hopefully see very soon.
